- Munchy Monday: The Beachcomber Cafe -

This week's Munchy Monday will be the last of my summer eats, but this beach side restaurant is still a great spot to hit up during the fall and holiday seasons.
The view next door!

The Beachcomber in Newport Beach, like literally right on the beach, does not have incredible, mouth watering dishes, but does have an amazing atmosphere, vibe, and location. If you're looking for a daycation, then this is the place for you! I've been here several times to say that the food is not extremely impressive, except for the Tiny Ahi Tacos appetizer, but everything else that this beach side restaurant has to offer makes up for it. I love escaping to this restaurant and pretend like I'm lounging it up in Hawaii, even if it is just for a couple hours. The only downside is that this place is always super busy. Reservations are limited and I have always had to wait at least an hour for a table. Because of how many customers they have to serve, the service is not as good as it could be. Here's the most important thing to know about getting to Beachcomber - since it's located on the beach by rental homes, parking is only limited to those in the homes and to cars that are loading/unloading or dropping off/picking up. Find parking on PCH at the Los Trancos parking lot, which can get really crowded during the summer season. There, shuttles come periodically and will take you down to the beach where the cafe is located. Eating at The Beachcomber gives you validation for the $15 parking fee as long as your bill is $15 or more. The last time I was there we had a Robert De Niro sighting at the bar in the back - pretty exciting! This place is a great place for adults for two reasons: 1) Kiddies will probably be fed up with the long wait and 2) Adults can hang out at the bar while they wait. If there are any birthday's or celebrations coming up in November or December, I'd recommend going then because the beach and restaurant are decorated and the Christmas tree in front of the restaurant is a great photo op!
